One of a series of artworks which incorporate the newspaper used to contain the drawing, into the subject matter. Today's news has become 'today's potatoes' now that the content of the newspaper is in the past, perhaps forgotten, and it takes on a new, more practical role, as the somewhere to put a new day's potato crop.

A colourful pastel sketch on toned paper of a dog wrapped in a Christmas blanket - the phrase 'a dog is not just for Christmas' springs to mind. The lines , contours and patterns of the blanket wrapped around the dog make a sumptuous, soft statement, as does the snowdrop design on which the dog lies.

This pastel and pencil drawing has a sense of depth and three dimensions with the use of light and shadows, and the zebra crossing in the foreground gently leads the viewer towards the subject.. The paper is left in places, providing the mid tone, and a sense of the houses receding, suggesting their transient existence

A pastel drawing capturing the bleak atmosphere of Salisbury Plain in the English countryside. there is an army presence there, with weapons testing, which lends this area a distinct and rather ominous quality.
